CV (DOCX)

I am a PhD candidate in the Institute for Data Science and Informatics at the University of Missouri.
My research focuses on invasive species mapping, geospatial machine learning,
and high-resolution satellite imagery to understand how ecological and socio-environmental
variables shape species distributions across urban landscapes.

Research Interests

  • Geospatial machine learning & predictive modeling
  • Invasive species detection in high-resolution imagery
  • Landscape ecology & environmental modeling
  • Remote sensing of vegetation & land cover change
  • Public health & spatial epidemiology
  • Data pipelines, reproducible workflows, and spatial databases

Current Research

My dissertation focuses on the detection and modeling of Callery pear (Pyrus calleryana)
using high-resolution satellite imagery, machine learning, and socio-environmental predictors.
This work improves monitoring of invasive species across urban and peri-urban landscapes.

Methods I work with

  • Convolutional neural networks & tree-based ML models
  • Spectral feature engineering for vegetation detection
  • Spatial statistics & spatial cross-validation
  • Raster pipelines in Python, R, and GDAL
